When searching for “composite bonding cost in London” you’ll find lots of different search results and lots of different prices.

Knowing how much composite bonding costs in London helps you decide if this procedure is right for you, or if treatments such as teeth whitening or teeth reshaping are more suitable.

At Sensu, we’re a cosmetic dentist and orthodontist in London, helping you find the right treatment to achieve both your dream smile. We’re home to specialist-led orthodontics and world-class cosmetic and restorative dentistry and we have transformed more than 20,000 smiles since opening in 2008. We want to help you find the right treatment for your budget which is why we’re offering three different pricing tiers based on the level of work required.

The great thing about composite bonding is that it’s cheaper than other treatments such as porcelain veneers, and is often completed in a single visit. This means spending less time at the clinic and more time enjoying your new smile!

So what exactly is composite bonding and how does it work?

What Is Composite Bonding?

Composite bonding involves applying a tooth-coloured resin to your natural teeth to change their shape, colour, and size. It’s a minimally invasive procedure as your natural tooth is undisturbed as the enamel is left untouched.

The composite resin is carefully applied and sculpted directly onto your teeth to achieve your desired result. Whether this is improving the shape of one or two teeth for a more balanced smile, or focusing on your smile as a whole, it’s a versatile procedure that can have dramatic results.

Also known as teeth bonding or dental bonding, it is one of the most effective and cost-effective options if you’re unhappy with the look of your teeth as it can solve numerous issues, such as covering chips or improving worn teeth.

How Much Does Composite Bonding Cost?

The cost of composite bonding varies depending on the clinic you choose and how many teeth are being treated. For example, having composite bonding on a couple of teeth will be cheaper than having bonding applied to your whole upper arch.

In some cases, patients only have their upper arch treated as this is what most people see when you smile / talk. However by finding a cosmetic dentist in London that offers flexible pricing packages, you might find that having multiple teeth done is more affordable than you first thought.

Composite Bonding Cost London

The cost of composite bonding in London varies depending on the complexity of treatment, the number of teeth involved, and the level of customisation. Prices commonly range from approximately £250 to £600+ per tooth.

However at Sensu, we want to make composite bonding more affordable so we’ve built three different packages based on how much of a transformation you want.

For example, if you only want to change one or two teeth (perhaps there’s a crack you’re unhappy with or a gap you want to close), this will be cheaper than having a full set of teeth done. It all depends on what you want and how much of a change you want to make to your smile.

That’s the beauty of composite bonding, and the packages we offer at Sensu. as you’re in control. Below details the 3 composite bonding tiers at Sensu based on 8-10 teeth. The price of composite bonding varies depending on the level of complexity and purpose.

Please note: Prices double for 16-20 teeth.

composite edge bonding before and after

Tier 1: ‘Edge’ Bonding

Purpose: Refine and Enhance
Price: From £3,000

Typically suitable where:

  • Teeth are already relatively well aligned
  • Minimal wear to tooth edges
  • No significant length changes required
  • Mild colour improvements (a few shades)
  • Minor shape enhancements

This tier is generally more conservative and focused on refining and improving your existing smile, with subtle, natural-looking changes designed to improve overall aesthetics while preserving your natural teeth.

edge and partial bonding before and after

Tier 2: Partial & Full Composite (No lab work)

Purpose: Reshape and Rebuild
Price: From £4,000

Typically suitable where:

  • Teeth are worn and require length changes
  • Bite adjustments may be needed
  • Space closure is required
  • Teeth are not ideally aligned
  • Moderate shape improvements are required
  • Mild to moderate colour enhancement

These cases often require a wax-up or a planning stage to help design and test the new bite and smile position before treatment. That said, the composite bonding is hand-shaped in the clinic whilst you’re in the chair as opposed to being made in a dental lab.

bespoke composite bonding before and after

Tier 3: Full Composite Veneers (Lab made)

Purpose: Premium and Bespoke
Price: From £5,000

Typically suitable where:

  • Composite veneers are being fabricated by a laboratory
  • Existing composite veneers are being replaced
  • Larger colour changes are desired
  • More advanced or highly detailed smile design changes are required
  • Patients are seeking a more premium or bespoke aesthetic outcome

These cases are generally the most comprehensive and technically involved. They are also made in the lab, which means they are individually designed and made outside of the dental chair to achieve the right result.

Edge Bonding vs Composite Veneers

In dentistry, it’s common for terms to be used interchangeably even though they mean different things. This can be confusing as you’re not sure what treatment can help or which treatment is the most suitable.

Below we’re explaining the different terms as well as the cost of composite bonding vs the cost of porcelain veneers.

Composite edge bonding

A minimalist form of composite bonding that focuses on refining the edges of your teeth. It’s often used to improve small chips, uneven edges, or small gaps without significantly altering the overall size or position of your teeth.

Direct composite veneers

Composite veneers that are shaped directly onto your teeth by the dentist during your treatment. No dental laboratory is involved and they are sculpted while you’re in the chair.

Lab-made composite veneers

Composite veneers that are designed and made in a lab before being bonded to your teeth. This allows for a more customised result.

Porcelain veneers

Thin ceramic shells that are custom-made in a dental lab and bonded to your teeth after a small amount of enamel is removed to completely transform your smile. This treatment usually takes 2-3 appointments.

Wax-up

A diagnostic wax-up is created on a model of your teeth before treatment begins, allowing both you and your dentist to preview your proposed new smile before any treatment is carried out.

Composite Bonding Cost vs Porcelain Veneers Cost

The main advantage of composite bonding compared to porcelain veneers is cost.

At Sensu, we aim to keep our prices as transparent and affordable as possible. Whilst composite bonding can address many issues, porcelain veneers are sometimes the preferred choice as they last around 10-15 years.
However, porcelain veneers typically cost around twice as much as composite bonding, making it important to decide which treatment best suits both your smile goals and your budget. View all of our cosmetic procedure prices here.

The cost of porcelain veneers also depends on the type of material used. At Sensu, we offer the three options below, depending on the level of customisation and natural aesthetic you want:

  1. Monolithic veneers (one colour) – Made from a single block of porcelain in one shade. This option is best suited to patients who want a brighter, more uniform smile.
  2. Multi-tone veneers (more natural) – Made using different shades and subtle variations of colour to better replicate the appearance of natural teeth.
  3. Fully hand-made / bespoke (multi-tonal with different layers) – The most natural option using multiple layers of porcelain to recreate the translucency, texture, and colour variations of real teeth.

The more bespoke and artistic your smile design becomes, the greater the level of craftsmanship involved, which is reflected in the overall cost.

Composite Bonding Cost In London FAQs

  • You can’t whiten composite bonding as it’s a synthetic material. However, attending regular hygiene appointments and maintaining good oral hygiene helps keep discolouration at bay.

  • Dental bonding is not painful. As it does not involve any drilling or needles, it’s a gentle treatment so you won’t require any pain relief.

  • When carefully planned and carried out by our experienced cosmetic and restorative dentists, composite bonding can provide highly natural-looking results that blend seamlessly with your surrounding teeth.

How Much Does Composite Bonding Cost In London?

Knowing how much composite bonding costs in London helps you choose which treatment suits your needs and your budget. Aside from composite bonding, there’s also teeth whitening, teeth contouring, and porcelain veneers – each offering their own benefits.

One of the greatest benefits of composite bonding is its flexibility. Rather than focusing on a particular technique, it’s more important to consider the outcome you want to achieve.

If you’re already happy with most of your smile and simply want to refine a few teeth, edge bonding may be the ideal solution.

If you’re looking for more significant improvements to tooth shape, length, alignment, or colour, a more comprehensive composite bonding approach may be the most appropriate treatment.

When you work with a cosmetic dental specialist in London such as Sensu, all of these options will be explained to you. It’s not about the specific type of composite bonding, but rather about the end goal to make sure you achieve the smile you want. As a practice that is home to specialist-led orthodontics and world-class cosmetic and restorative dentistry, every treatment option will be carefully explained by our multidisciplinary clinical team, allowing you to make an informed decision.

With all of our patients, we use the most appropriate composite technique based on your desired outcome, and often, treatment involves a combination of approaches. To start your smile journey, book your free consultation.
