Six solutions to crooked teeth
Lots of people simply don’t like the look of their crooked smile, but crowded teeth can also have a negative impact on your oral health – providing crevices for food residue to hide in and making your teeth harder to keep clean.

Braces
For otherwise healthy teeth that are simply crooked or crowded, orthodontic treatment offers the best long-term solution. Using fixed braces or removable aligners, we can gradually move your teeth to reveal a beautifully straight smile that’s all yours.
Braces aren’t a quick fix; treatment can take months and occasionally years. The results are more than worth it though, and if you keep wearing your retainers your new smile will last a lifetime.
Veneers
A quicker alternative to braces are veneers. These consist of a very thin layer of porcelain, which is placed over your natural tooth to disguise any imperfections. The downside of veneers is that we will usually need to remove some tooth surface to achieve the best result. For this reason, if your teeth are healthy and simply crooked, we may recommend braces as a less destructive treatment.

If your teeth are broken or severely decayed, we can still help you to achieve a confident smile. After treating any decay we can fit dental crowns over the top of any damaged or broken teeth. They’ll look as good as new, and they’ll function just like your own.
In some cases we can use a combination of crowns and veneers to create a camera-ready smile. Crowns aren’t designed to last forever, but with good care and oral hygiene they can last up to 30 years before they need replacing.

If your teeth are only very mildly crowded you might be suitable for teeth contouring. This is a very simple, straightforward treatment that involves carefully reshaping your teeth to make them appear neater and straighter.
